June 28, 2016 - Ontario is making major improvements to highways, roads and bridges in Southwestern Ontario that will create or sustain more than 21,000 construction jobs across the province and make travel easier for families and businesses. 
June 24, 2016 - Phase 1 of the Highway 407 East Project extension project, which includes Highway 407 from Brock Road in Pickering to Harmony Road in Oshawa, and Highway 412, which connects Highways 407 and 401, opened to the public on June 20, 2016.
June 24, 2016 - An asphalt resurfacing project for the Coquihalla Highway in B.C., a section of Highway 5, will begin next month with resurfacing taking place in the three stretches of the mountain pass - between the Nicolum Creek Bridge and Portia Bridge, from the Portia Bridge to the Box Canyon area, and between Ottomite Bridge and the Zopkios brake check, according to a recent article in the Merritt Herald.

May 20, 2016 - The governments of Canada and the Northwest Territories have announced the completion of a successful third construction season of the Inuvik Tuktoyaktuk Highway.
April 29, 2016 - The $3.67 billion reconstruction of the Turcot Internchange is currently Canada's third largest road construction project. The massive project is being undertaken by a consortium of companies, including Kiewit Construction.
April 27, 2016 - Every perfect, low-visibility touchdown at the St. John’s International Airport since late January this year is thanks to a three-year effort to upgrade both ends of its main runway (11/29) to a Category III instrument landing system.

The B.C. Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has created a video to give people a glimpse of a proposed design for the new 10-lane bridge that will be constructed to replace the aging Massey Tunnel.

From expensive and unreliable supply chains to a lack of employment opportunities and social, recreational and medical services, remote northern communities have had no choice but to adapt to tougher climates than their Canadian neighbours in the southern regions of the country.
March 10, 2016 - The Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) replaces or rehabilitates many culverts each year. During a regular culvert maintenance inspection in 2010, it was determined that an existing corrugated steel pipe culvert under Highway 11, a major north-south corridor, had deteriorated, displaying excessive deformations. The ministry replaced the culvert in 2012 using an innovative new contract delivery model and a state-of-the art installation method.  
January 27, 2016 – The tender for the $173 million four-laning of a stretch of Highway 69 has been awarded.
January 21, 2016 – The remaining portion of the Inuvik to Tuktoyaktuk highway will be built with less gravel in order to keep costs under control.
