Rickford threatens to cut province out of Ring of Fire development

Dec. 17, 2014 – Federal Natural Resource Minister Greg Rickford, says the province is dragging its feet and mishandling the development of roads and power lines to service the Ring of Fire in Northern Ontario. He claims to be hesitant to partner with the provincial government but has suggested that other parties (such as a mining company and First Nations partnership) step in and provide a proposal.

Ontario's Northern Development and Mines Minister Michael Gravelle claims to have a very complete and strategic plan to proceed, according to the CBC.
