Peel seeks meeting over halted highway

February 8, 2016  By  Andrew Macklin

February 8, 2016 – Councillors in Peel, on the outskirts of the Greater Toronto Area, have requested a meeting with government transportation officials after plans for a new highway were delayed.

According to an article in the Brampton Guardian, the meeting was requested following December’s decision to halt an Environmental Assessment of the new highway.

The highway, proposed to run from the Highway 401/407 interchange near Milton northeast to the intersection of Highway 400 and King Road, would open up new industrial lands through Brampton and Caledon.
