January 21, 2020  By Rock to Road

Mississauga, Ont. – Staying Ahead of the Curve is the theme of the Ontario Road Builders’ Association’s 93rd Annual Convention and AGM.

The convention takes place February 2 to 4 at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto and will bring together researchers, policy leaders and the best minds in the industry to provide delegates the information needed to face current challenges and to gain clear perspective on how to stay ahead of the curve in meeting Ontario’s ever changing and growing transportation infrastructure demands.

“We live in a world where advancements in technology change at lightning speed and at the same rate, the world’s political climate. Therefore, as an industry, not only do we need to keep the pace with all of these changes, we need the knowledge and tools that will allow us to adapt and prepare for the future,” said ORBA’s chief operating officer, Bryan Hocking. “With that in mind and the fact that the convention leads into a new decade, we have planned a program that will supply strategic insights for the road building industry and its stakeholders for 2020 and beyond.”

Highlights of the 2020 ORBA Convention include keynote speaker, Canadian author, environmentalist, and politician Jim Harris, who is an expert on disruptive innovation and the President’s Inaugural Dinner guest speaker, former Mississauga Mayor, Hazel McCallion, who, during her 36 years as mayor grew Mississauga from a small collection of villages to one of Canada’s largest cities.
