July 8, 2015 – Ontario Road Builders’ Association (ORBA) congratulates this year’s recipients of the Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Technology Scholarships.

Claudius Dalm, entering his first year this September in the Bachelor of Applied Science Engineering program at Windsor University, was awarded the $2,000 Civil Engineering Scholarship. Claudius’ goal is to pursue civil engineering and become a professional engineer with one day starting his own engineering firm. Already having four years’ experience working in the construction industry, Claudius’ passion for problem solving, designing and building are evident in his desire to contribute to the industry.

An exceptional student and volunteer in his community, James has shown strong leadership skills and great mentorship in his role as a camp counsellor over the past three years. With a passion for helping others, upon completion of his program, James plans to work for an organization where he can assist impoverished communities by improving their infrastructure.

“We congratulate Claudius and James on their scholarships and wish them great success as they begin their journey learning and developing the skills required to join the industry,” commented ORBA Education Committee co-chair, John Blake. Fellow ORBA Education Committee Co-Chair Geoffrey Stephens added, “ORBA members are very pleased to provide financial support to students such as Claudius and James who have a strong desire to contribute and make a difference in the transportation infrastructure industry.”
