
August 29, 2012, Carmel, Ind. – The inaugural National Precast Concrete Association Sustainability Awards will be presented at
the Salute to Excellence Jan. 12, 2013, in conjunction with The Precast Show in
Indianapolis.
August 29, 2012, Carmel, Ind. – The inaugural NPCA Sustainability Awards will be presented at
the Salute to Excellence Jan. 12, 2013, in conjunction with The Precast Show in
Indianapolis.
The goal of this awards program is to acknowledge
excellence in sustainable products, practices and operations within the NPCA
membership, and to share information about sustainable precast concrete
manufacturing practices with the construction industry and the community.
Awards will be presented in the following four
categories:
Producer Members (manufacturing plants)
● Best
Project Entry – A precast product being used in its final design
purpose that
contributes to the sustainable attributes
of the project.
● Best
Company/Plant Entry – A practice that is performed by the company in
doing
business specifically at the precast manufacturing plant showing
improvement in sustainable practices.
Associate Members (suppliers)
● Best
Product Entry – A product being used in its final design purpose
in the
manufacturing or performance of a precast concrete product, and that is
beneficial to the
overall level of sustainability of that
intended precast concrete product.
● Best
Company/Plant Entry – A practice that is performed by the company in
doing
business specifically at its plant or facility location that shows an
improvement in overall sustainable practices.
Submittal
themes may include substitution of nonrenewable materials; minimization of
packaging; compressed air management; production waste management; recycling;
vehicle efficiency; water use reduction; biodiversity and conservation;
