Feb. 13, 2015,
Mississauga, ON – The 2015 edition of the National Heavy Equipment Show will include an Industry Breakfast on Friday, March 6th, presented by the Ontario Chapter of the Canadian Association of Equipment Distributors (CAED) and Rock To Road Magazine.

Taking place onsite at the International Centre, the Breakfast will feature Keynote Speaker Bob Collins, Senior Economist with BuildForce Canada presenting ‘2015: A Forecast for the Industry’. These are interesting times for the construction labour market. The industry is undergoing the most dramatic demographic shift in its history with close to a quarter of Canada’s construction and maintenance workforce retiring over the next decade. At the same time the industry is experiencing growth. This keynote will provide the latest 2015-2024 outlook for construction and maintenance; invaluable information for members of the industry.

BuildForce Canada is a national industry-led organization committed to the development of a highly skilled workforce that will support the future needs of Canada’s construction industry. BuildForce works extensively with provincial committees comprised of owners, contractors, labour groups, and governments, to ensure the development of reliable labour demand and supply information that describes current and anticipated market conditions for over 30 construction trades and occupations, by province.

The Rock To Road ‘Top 10 under 40’ will also be presented during the Industry Breakfast. These awards recognize 10 individuals under the age of 40 who are making their mark in the Canadian aggregates and road construction industry. Coming off the successful recognition of the inaugural Top 20 under 40 in October of 2013, this year’s edition will put the spotlight on 10 more industry professionals who are making a difference as a part of the next generation workforce.
