June 18, 2019  By Rock to Road

June 18, 2019, Corner Brook, N.L. – The world’s largest industrial auctioneer, Ritchie Bros., will descend upon Marble Mountain Resort in Corner Brook, N.L. for its first-ever auction on the west coast of the province.

The event on June 27 features equipment from more than 20 local contractors, including a large fleet realignment for Mike Kelly & Sons Ltd., a general contractor operating in Newfoundland for more than 60 years.

“Everyone in the industry knows Ritchie Bros., but I’m sure a lot of people in Corner Brook are wondering about all the equipment up at Marble Mountain,” said David Kelly, who runs Mike Kelly & Sons with his brother Karl. “We have about 70 items of surplus equipment we aren’t currently using, so we’ve decided to sell it. We’ve been buying from Ritchie Bros. for years and are excited to host them out on the west coast for the first time.”

Heading up Ritchie Bros.’ team in Newfoundland is ex-NHL player and recent Newfoundland Hockey Hall of Fame inductee Harold Druken.

“As a born and bred Newfoundlander it’s great to bring Ritchie Bros. home,” said Harold, Territory Manager for Ritchie Bros. “This auction has an excellent selection of late-model, well-maintained equipment ready to go to work for new owners. We welcome everyone to come check out the event. It’s open to public and all the items will be sold without minimum bids or reserve prices. Who knows, maybe someone will go home with a nice mini excavator to help with their gardening.”

Equipment highlights in the auction include:

A 2017 Metso Lokotrack LT220 crawler cone crushing plant
A 2014 Metso Lokotrack LT106 crawler jaw crushing plant
