metso557806April 23, 2013 – Metso announces
their new Metso ES, a high-energy elliptical motion horizontal screen. The
screen is said to be available in selected markets by the end of May, 2013.

“We have
taken the Metso modular MV vibrator and integrated it into a unique, new screen
design", says Mats Dahlberg, global business manager of Vibrating Equipment,
Mining and Construction, Metso.

The two
unbalanced shaft lines in the Metso ES rotate in opposite directions,
generating a high-energy elliptical motion with a self-synchronization design.
The Metso ES performs in any application with high requirements on screening accuracy.
Even in wet screening conditions or screening of sticky and dirty materials – the
Metso ES provides aggressive screening.

Less downtime

The company
says that the Metso ES’s deck frame design, with no welding along the cross
member sections helps to achieve lasting performance and minimizes downtime.

weld-free side plates have a high stress tolerance. There are no mechanical
timing devices, gears, belts or oil leakage, which together with the reliable
grease lubrication system keeps downtime and maintenance to a minimum, Metso

There is
a large space between the decks, which Metso says means easy, safe and more
comfortable access for maintenance. The Metso ES is also equipped with coil
spring covers to minimize the risk of pinching accidents, rubber stabilizers,
high-safety belt guards and one centralized, conveniently located greasing

wear and impact resistance rubber linings as standard protection.

Metso says
that’s because Trellex products are optimized for Metso screens, they are easily
available upgrade options for the Metso ES. The standard deck frame of the
screen is preconfigured to handle both modular and tension screening media with
minimal interruption and can be easily converted to handle the Metso media of
