McCloskey International equipment and services are now available to customers in Portugal, following the addition of Centrocar to the company’s global network of distributors.

Established more than 45 years ago, Centrocar is a multinational company dedicated to the sale of construction equipment and services. In 2008, they began an expansion into Africa, and currently service Angola and Mozambique. With 130 employees, Centrocar is well-positioned to serve customers in the region with a full complement of sales and aftermarket solutions.

Offering McCloskey’s highly productive mobile crushers, screeners and stackers, many of which are hybrid (dual power) or electric, rounds out Centrocar’s product portfolio.

“We want Centrocar to be a modern, flexible, trustable and a dynamic company, as well as a reference for its customers, suppliers, employees and shareholders,” said Fernando Almeida, chief executive officer at Centrocar.  “We invest in long term relations with our stakeholders in a market where time is the most rare and valuable variable. This equilibrium is the secret for success.  The Portuguese market will give us good opportunities to grow with McCloskey, we expect that market can show robust growth in the next five years due to infrastructure investments that are foreseen for the country.”

Toni Laaksonen, senior vice president at McCloskey International, noted the addition of Centrocar to the  dealer network further strengthens the company’s global footprint.

“They are strategically positioned to serve the market as we move into high growth opportunities like infrastructure development following the coronavirus pandemic,” Laaksonen said. “Additionally, the rich natural resource base in Portugal stimulates the demand for efficient, reliable and durable machinery and we anticipate this will contribute to the growth of our partnership and success in the marketplace.”

With a broad customer base, Centrocar is in a strong position to support the sales of McCloskey equipment in the region.

“In the aftermath of Covid, we anticipate strong growth, and McCloskey products will benefit both our companies, and our customers,” Almeida said.
