"Work is underway to upgrade highways across the
province as part of a significant commitment to improve Manitoba's
transportation system over the next few years," said Minister Ashton.
"This major interchange will smooth the drive for traffic on PTH 59 and on
the Perimeter Highway including providing an uninterrupted and more efficient
path for heavy transport trucks moving products onto CentrePort Canada
Way."

"This project complements other major route
improvements already announced and underway to help boost Manitoban's
economy," said Minister Ashton. "The project will also feature an
active transportation component to ensure that pedestrians and cyclists are
able to safely cross the Perimeter Highway along the Raleigh Street/Gateway
Road corridor."
