Majority of summer roadwork not hampered by supply chain issues
August 9, 2022 By CFJC News
Supply chain delays have been hindering many industries this year, but the City of Kamloops, B.C. says progress on summer roadwork projects has been smooth.
Most of the road work around the city this year has been focused on resurfacing aging or damaged streets. Disruptions related to supply delivery hiccups have been minimal, according to Streets and Environmental Services Manager Glen Farrow, so project timelines to lay down the asphalt haven’t been dragged out.
Underground utility upgrades for several major roadways — including Fourth Avenue and Lorne Street — and multi-use additions along Summit Drive and Sixth Avenue are also on the city schedule before the snow flies this year.
