
November 19, 2015 – The federal Liberal government will end the requirement for P3 partnerships for major infrastructure projects.
In conversation with The Globe and Mail, infrastructure and communities minister Amarjeet Sohi said that the new government will in co-operation with the provinces to get money for major infrastructure projects out the door much quicker.
Sohi went out to suggest that the need for a P3 partnership on all infrastructure projects valued at more than $100 million was “an onerous requirement for municipalities,” and that P3 screening can delay projects unnecessarily.
