Land purchased for Highway 7 expansion

April 2, 2015 – Ontario has officially completed the purchase of 87 pieces of property needed for the
expansion of Highway 7 between Kitchener and Guelph.
April 2, 2015 – Ontario has officially completed the purchase of 87 pieces of property needed for the
expansion of Highway 7 between Kitchener and Guelph.
According to a report from The Record, the Ontario Ministry
of Transportation was expected to spend around $70 million to acquire the
needed property for the highway expansion.
The expansion of the highway, the easternmost point of which
is located approximately 80km from downtown Toronto, will involve an 18km
stretch of roadway. The expansion is expected to take about five years.
