
January 27, 2016 – The tender for the $173 million four-laning of a stretch of Highway 69 has been awarded.
According to an article from the Sudbury Star, J & P Leveque Brothers Haulage Ltd. of Bancroft has been awarded the contract for the project, which spans Highway 69 from north of Highway 522 to north of Highway 607 south of Sudbury.
The 14km project includes two exchanges and 10 bridges, including significant structures for crossings of both the French and Pickerel rivers.
It is estimated that the construction will take five years to complete.
