Headline Road roundabout pushed to 2024

February 27, 2023  By Standard Freeholder

In 2021, the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) announced a roundabout at Headline Road could be completed by 2022. MTO also added repaving a section of the southern portion of the highway to its plans.

Last September, the United Counties of SDG (Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry) was advised construction was set to finally begin in 2023. SDG council heard last week during an update provided by CAO Maureen Adams that there was a productive meeting about the highway at a recent Rural Ontario Municipal Association (ROMA) delegation.

The Ministry of Transportation confirmed it has “been moving ahead… to complete the necessary design, environmental approvals, and proceeding to construction, which is tentatively scheduled for April 2024.”
