April 11, 2023  By Rock to Road Staff

April 11, 2023, TORONTO – Infrastructure Ontario and the Ministry of Transportation have selected GIP Paving as the preferred proponent in the Highway 3 widening project, taking place between Essex and Leamington.

The procurement process was overseen by a third-party fairness advisor to ensure openness, with financial close expected to occur in Spring 2023.

GIP Paving would be responsible for designing, building, and financing the project, which aims to widen Highway 3 from two lanes to four lanes between Essex Road 23’s Arner Townline and Union Avenue (Essex Road 34) outside of Leamington.

The GIP Paving team for this project is comprised of Dillon Consulting and WSP overseeing the design process, National Bank Financial in the role of financial advisor, and GIP Paving serving as the developer and the project’s construction team.
