
February 23, 2016 – Ford has developed a 50-mile test track to observe damage done by potholes and rough road terrains.
According to an article from Wired magazine, the track built at the Lommel Proving Ground in Belgium includes 100challenging surface conditions based on road issues in 25 different countries.
Engineers from Ford have driven over the track at speed of up to 75km an hour, using seismology equipment to observe the damage done to vehicles when driving over these road conditions. The goal is to figure out away to develop a vehicle that can handle these challenges without inflicting significant damage.
