
March 17, 2016 – The federal government has announced $39 million in additional for infrastructure projects in Banff, including over $20 million for road work.
According to a CBC News report, $14.5 million will be used for rehabilitation work on a 47km stretch of Trans-Canada Highway at the east end of the park. There is also an additional $6 million committed for improving the animal underpasses found at certain points along the highway.
The funds are in addition to monies already promised to improvements in and around Banff during the 2015 election campaign.
