May 27, 2011 – Tromsø airport in northern Norway is a vital hub for numerous traffic links both within the country and to the neighbouring states. The runway’s wearing course needs renewing on a regular basis as it gets severely eroded by the constantly blowing, extremely salty wind coming in from the Arctic Sea.

This time, in addition to pavement rehabilitation, the runway was also to be extended by 250m. Contractor Lemminkäinen Norge AS opted for a VÖGELE SUPER 1800-2 with SprayJet Module to carry out the asphalt works. For the first time in Norway, the paver was equipped with ®, the VÖGELE System for 3D Machine Control.
