Volvo DD110B Compactor
Highly versatile and capable of tackling a variety of applications, the Volvo DD110B heavyweight double-drum asphalt compactor provides high centrifugal force, powerful frequency and optimal drum weight combined to produce optimum energy output for excellent compaction and high machine productivity. The compactor offers dual amplitude settings, allowing operators to quickly and easily adjust drum forces when material depth changes.

JCB Tier 4 VM117/137 Soil Compactors
The newly designed JCB VM117 offers optimal compaction performance with improved operator comfort and safety in mind. The JCB engine has no DPF, meaning zero downtime for regeneration, yet greater fuel efficiency. Noise and vibration levels have been reduced while front and rear visibility, gradeability, and compaction performance have been enhanced. Live Link comes standard for complete machine and maintenance tracking.

Cat CB54B Tandem Vibratory Roller
The Cat CB54B performs well in vibratory or static mode, enabling a single machine to perform breakdown, intermediate and finishing work.  Solid- or split-drum designs are available. Pivoting operating station features hand wheel steering technology, an LCD display and push-button controls for simple operation, excellent visibility and comfort. Vibratory options include dual amplitude/dual frequency, Versa Vibe™, and five amplitude systems. The Eco-mode feature conserves fuel and reduces sound levels. Optional Cat Compaction Control informs operator of current mat temperatures, machine position, and coverage/pass count completion.

CASE High-Frequency Compactors
CASE’s new DV209C and DV210C asphalt rollers feature a frequency range of 42 to 55 hertz standard and 46 to 67 hertz high frequency. When combined with variable amplitude settings, these machines can be dialed in to better handle thinner lifts (low amplitude/high frequency) and thicker lifts (high amplitude/low frequency). The machines are also equipped with new, high-efficiency Tier 4 Interim engines.  The new fully integrated steering wheel display moves with the operators and improves visibility by removing the
front console.

Hamm targets mid-range compaction
The HD+ 70i and HD+ 80i are the new models in the HD+ series of articulated tandem rollers. HAMM is entering the 7 and 8 tonne class with a total of nine machines. Both weight categories will feature one machine each with double vibration, a combi roller and an oscillatory roller plus a high-frequency machine for the Canadian and U.S. markets. Rounding off the product offering is an 8 t roller with split drum for tough tasks.The 55.4 kW 4-cylinder diesel engine employed in the HD+ 70i and HD+ 80i is equipped to meet Tier 4 Final emissions standards. Both come with a cooling system that features two separately controlled fans to ensure optimum cooling of charge air.

HBOMAG BW138AD-5 using Economizer technology
The BW138AD-5 ECONOMIZER uses an acceleration sensor to measure the stiffness of the target material across the entire compacted area. Data from the sensor is instantly displayed via a series of ten yellow LED lights on the roller’s instrument panel. The number of illuminated lights on the LED display increases in conjunction with increased compaction levels, allowing the operator to quickly react to changing conditions and ultimately produce smooth, consistent compaction results.

Dynapac expands mid-range offerings
The 7-8t class tandem asphalt roller Dynapac CC224HF, and the CC234HF split-drum version, the CC234HF, are designed to meet the needs of contractors, road contractors and rental companies worldwide. The new rollers have been designed to achieve high quality surface finishes offering operational features such as “soft” starting and stopping to prevent bowing or cracking in the asphalt layers; allowing even unskilled roller operators to start and stop without leaving marks. The new Dynapac models are powered by a Cummins QSB 3.3 T3 water-cooled turbo engine with after cooler, and rated at 60 kW (80 hp) at 2200 rpm.

Hyundai enters vibratory drum roller market
The HR120C-9 is a single drum vibratory compaction roller and Hyundai’s first in North America. It has high/low amplitude settings and an eco speed feature that allows for optimal hydraulic flow, less fuel consumption and a quieter cabin. HA control allows the traction drive to be automatically adjusted to different types of soil.
