February 2, 2017  By Rock to Road Staff report

Terex MPS will be launching its new CRC1150S Portable Closed Circuit Plant, as well promoting the global re-launch of its Simplicity brand at the show.

February 3, 2017 – Here is a small sample of the many technologies and products that will be on display at ConExpo-CON/AGG 2017, which takes place from March 7 to 11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nev.

Caterpillar
At CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017, Caterpillar will have 40 machines on display in two different exhibit areas totalling 60,000 square feet. Cat Connect Technologies for machine control and monitoring will share the spotlight with the iron it enhances—ranging from a skid steer loader to a 96-ton excavator. Eight Cat machines will make their public debut and a half dozen more machines introduced recently will be on display for the first time at an equipment show. The newest Cat machines to be displayed include excavators, wheel loaders, a dozer, an articulated truck, a telehandler and cold planers. Caterpillar will also introduce new remote control technologies and connectivity technologies at the show.

In the large North Hall exhibit, Booth# 10924, the display will focus on excavating, grading, paving and aggregates mining and handling. The Gold Lot exhibit, Booth# 4490, will feature small machines used in building construction. A handful of large machines displayed in the Gold Lot will represent general construction and aggregates product lines. The new 745 Articulated Truck features an all new, class leading cab with enhanced visibility. Innovative machine control features further improve operator efficiency and safety. The new stability assist system reduces the risk of rollovers, and the new Economy Mode reduces fuel consumption.

The full line of Cat paving products will be represented with emphasis on three new cold planers—PM825, PM622 and PM312.

Terex Finlay
The Terex Finlay I-140 direct drive 1,270mm x 1,240mm (50” x 48”) horizontal impact crusher with variable speed gives operators unprecedented levels of production in recycling, mining and quarrying applications. The Terex CR032 chamber gives excellent reduction ratios and high consistency of product shape. A significant engineering approach being introduced in this model is the material flow through the plant. The flow of material has been significantly improved by increasing the width of components as the material moves through the machine.

The machine features an advanced electronic control system that monitors and controls the speed of the rotor and regulates the heavy duty vibrating feeder (VGF) with integrated pre-screen to maintain a consistent feed of material into the impact chamber for optimal crushing conditions.

Material from the integrated pre-screen can be diverted to a stockpile via the optional by-pass conveyor, or it may join the crushed product on the main belt. The standard hopper has a capacity of 6m³ (7.5yd³).

Sandvik Mining & Rock Technology
Sandvik Mining & Rock Technology invites attendees to visit its booth to learn more about new developments in mineral and ground tools for mining, trenching and road planing. Sandvik’s latest generation of patented carbide grades, manufactured using an innovative process technique with completely new raw materials, has made it possible to create new, extra-coarse, super-tough alloys with perfectly uniform grain structure. The benefit is that the tip’s material grade can be better matched to hard rock and soft rock applications.

Sandvik constantly develops new hard material alloys to function in the most demanding environments. One result of its extensive research projects in this field is the development of the new carbide grade generation – providing larger, stronger and more efficient tools. Demands on tool performance, particularly relating to cemented carbide tip material and its resistance to wear and fracture, become more critical as operations progress into harder rock and mineral formations. Larger continuous cutting machines are being used to replace the traditional drill-and-blast process in many mining projects.

Keestrack
Keestrack, a global specialist for mobile crushing and screening equipment, will showcase its growing product range of tracked crushing, classifying and material handling solutions, which includes jaw, cone and impactor crushers, a full range of scalpers, horizontal classifiers and drum screens and ancillary equipment as stackers or dust suppression systems.

Highlights will include the company’s new H4 tracked cone crusher. The light and compact plant features the KT-H4 cone crusher, adapted and supplied by a world-leading cone specialist. The fully automated unit produces up to 250 tph at maximum feed sizes of 7”. The wide variety of concaves allows a high flexibility in secondary or tertiary production of highly defined end fractions. The Keestrack H4 features a hybrid diesel-electric drive concept (345 kW Diesel (Tier 4f) / 330 kVA Genset/135 kW E-drive for crusher).

This guarantees economic fuel consumption and ease of maintenance through the wide use of electric motors on screens and conveyors.

The recently introduced full-hybrid version H4e even allows full electric operation through mains or an external gen set. An additional electric motor/hydro pump then supplies the hydraulic driven feeder, the secondary screen module, the tracks and all hydraulic cylinders.

McCloskey International
McCloskey International will introduce its 36” x 100’ VBIN desegregating telescoping stacker, which will make its debut at the show. The new SDX100 VBIN is the first self-powered telescoping stacker in North America, with an onboard diesel engine. Available with either powered wheel or track drives, the SDX100 VBIN is highly mobile and easily transported from site to site. The new stacker desegregates and maximizes stockpile capacity using a robust, fully automated and highly flexible CAN based control system providing optimal control of material quality. It is more than capable of 750+ TPH in applications like barge loading, desegregating, offloading in tight quarters, or stockpiling materials. The VBIN section itself features hydraulic fold and boasts a standard capacity of over 7 cu. yd. In order to deal with shock loads of 10 tons and more, the direct load stacker uses a heavy duty build and includes tightly spaced impact rollers, heavy-duty 3-ply belting and reinforced frame. On-site setup from truck to stockpiling can be accomplished in 15 minutes.

John Deere
A pillar in mining and quarrying operations, the John Deere wheel loader family welcomes the addition of the 844K Series-III and 844K Series-III Aggregate Handler configuration. The new wheel loaders offer a 13.5L John Deere PowerTech Final Tier 4 diesel engine that delivers 380 horsepower for the 844K-III and 401 horsepower for the Aggregate Handler configuration. The models are equipped with a standard five-speed transmission with torque-converter lockup in gears two through five. This feature increases acceleration, speeds and cycles, and optimizes power and fuel efficiency during transport, roading, and ramp climbing. Other Series-III updates include more robust plumbing with additional bulk heads. Over three dozen steel tubes replace 81 feet of hoses. The Aggregate Handler configuration is purpose built for two-pass loading with increased power, larger tilt cylinders, higher hydraulic pressure and increased counterweighing to handle bigger material-handling buckets (9.3 cubic yard/9.8 cubic yard), reduce fill time in processed aggregates and ultimately conserve fuel in applications. New enhanced performance buckets boast a narrower integrated spill guard and curved side cutters to improve load visibility and load retention. The Aggregate Handler option cuts loading time by 30 per cent with reduced fuel consumption.
