On December 8, the MHCA Equipment Rental Rates Committee concluded an across-the-board increase of 18 per cent was required for the equipment rental rates. That decision was referred to the MHCA Board of Directors for consideration and a vote. On December 14, the Board approved the recommendation.
As well, prior to making the recommendation, the Committee consulted and shared information with the Alberta Roadbuilders and Heavy Construction Association and Saskatchewan Heavy Construction Association. Both associations have also adopted significant increases to be included in their 2023 Guides; MHCA’s 18 per cent falls in the middle of the rate hikes of those associations.
