Employment picking up in southwestern Ontario

Oct. 6, 2010 – The major cities in southwestern Ontario along
Highway 401 and Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) corridors leading to the U.S.
have a combined population of 8.6 million people. That’s almost exactly
25%, or one quarter, of the nation’s total.

Employment in those cities, measured according to
year-over-year percentage changes, has been better in almost all
instances in 2010 than in 2009, when recession was more front and
