sandvik_-_c1521March 20, 2013, San Antonio, Texas – Day one at World of Asphalt did not
disappoint anyone looking to see the newest products in the rock to road industry.

Throughout the Henry Gonzalez Convention Centre in San Antonio, Texas were signs for new products
being displayed by major manufacturers from across the U.S. and around the
world.

Anybody used to seeing the bright white paint on Terex Cedar
Rapids’ paving machines had to adjust their eyes when they saw the newly
painted yellow version of the CR462 (now part of the BOMAG group following the
acquisition of some of Terex’s paving lines). BOMAG also promoted their Economizer
technology, which provides operators with real-time data to gain complete
control of the compaction process. The Economizer is being offered as an option
on the BW138AD-5 roller.

Sandvik made an impact with the introduction of the C1521
Prisec. Billed as the first impact crusher to provide both primary and
secondary crushing operations. The C1521 is a compact horizontal impact crusher
that provides a solid cubical shaped product in either application. The C1521
promotes better reduction ratios through the use of a specially designed two-curtain
system built into the traditional three-curtain configuration crusher.

Roadtec drew some attention with the release of the first model in
their new line of reclaimer/stabilizers. The SX-4e is promoted as a 450hp
versatile mid-sized stabilizer-reclaimer with enhanced features for greater
performance, accessibility and durability. A Cummins QSX-15 Tier 4i engine
powers the SX-4e. The SX-4e offers cut depths of up to 51cm (20in.) and 254cm
(100in.) wide. Roadtec will also offer an SX-6e and an SX-8e, the details of
which were not released at the show.

released at World of Asphalt/AGG1 by looking on the new products section of our
website. And don’t forget to watch for our complete overview of the show coming
exclusively in the March/April edition of Aggregates
and Roadbuilding magazine.
