October 21, 2014, Edmonton, Alta. – A new city report is
showing the need for significant upgrades or reconstruction of 66 interchanges
in the next 50 years in Edmonton.

showing the need for significant upgrades or reconstruction of 66 interchanges
in the next 50 years in Edmonton.

 

According to a report from the Edmonton Journal, the report
includes 21priority projects that must be addressed over the next 30 years.

Director of Transportation Facility and
Capital Planning Rob Gibbard believes that the work is vital to the city, both
from traffic and economic standards.

 

The price tag for all 66 projects is initially estimated at
somewhere between $4-$7 billion. The 22 priority projects are likely to cost
upwards of $2 billion.
