Dunford sentenced in Richards’ death

December 4, 2015 – Keith Dunford has received his sentence in the tragic construction zone death of Ashley Dawn Richards.
According to the Saskatoon StarPhoenix, Dunford was sentenced to two years minus a day in prison, and a three-year driving prohibition.
Dunford had been found guilty of dangerous driving causing death after he struck Richards on a live road construction site while Richards was working as a flagperson. According to an RCMP report, it was estimated that Dunford was driving his SUV at a speed of between 82-99 km/h.
The tragedy has led to stricter enforcement and increased fines for drivers not obeying speed reductions and warning signs in road construction zones.
