
October 15, 2015 – Keith Dunford has been found guilty in the death of flagperson Ashley Richards, but on the lesser of the two charges.
According to the Leader-Post, Dunford was found guilty of dangerous riving causing death, but was found not guilty of criminal negligence causing death.
Dunford had plead not guilty in the death of Richards, who he struck with his SUV while driving through a construction zone in August of 2012 near Midale, Sask. Richards, 18, was on her first day on the job.
A sentencing hearing has been scheduled October 30th. Following the judgment, neither lawyer was prepared to answer questions regarding what sentence will be sought for Dunford.
