March 6, 2012  By  Scott Jamieson

March 6, 2012, Kingston, ON – Cruickshank has triumphed over hundreds of
other applicants to be named a winner of Canada’s 50 Best Managed
Companies program. This prestigious national award is considered to be a
mark of excellence for Canadian-owned and managed companies with
revenues over $10 million.

“Today’s marketplace is not just about the investment in the product; it is also about the investment in the people. Cruickshank invests in their team to build up a strong and stable company, says John Hughes, Partner, Private Company Services, Deloitte. “Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies carries this attribute and we are pleased to say Cruickshank is one of this year’s recipients.”

Founded in 1956, Cruickshank is a leading road, bridge and infrastructure construction services firm with over 500 employees. The company, which operates in both Canada and the U.S., has significant experience in both the private and public sectors and focuses on a safe, healthy work environment that allows employees to fully demonstrate  their expertise. Along with winning the Best Managed award, the company has also been named as one of the Top 50 Best Small and Medium Employers in Canada for the past three years, and one of Canada’s top ‘green’ employers by Maclean’s Magazine in 2011.

“Our people are the envy of our industry,” says Steve Cruickshank, CEO of Cruickshank. “We work hard to provide them with the tools they need to succeed – from employee benefits and training resources to leading edge technology – so that they can give customers ‘our level best’. They are the reason that we’ve won this award.”
