LONDON, Ont. – The City of London is preparing crews for the first phase of a three-year upgrade project on Colonel Talbot Road, with work scheduled from June to December of this year.

The project looks to convert Colonel Talbot Road from a two-lane rural road with ditches and gravel shoulders into a two-lane urban road connecting Talbot Village and Lambeth. Upgrades will include new sidewalks, multi-use pathways, a pedestrian crosswalk and boulevard bike paths alongside the new lanes.

The majority of work taking place this year will focus on watermain and storm sewer construction, culvert replacements and subdivision servicing. Surface asphalt and permanent pavement markings are planned for 2026.

The road will be closed from Main Street to Park Lane for all 2024 work, with a smaller section requiring closure in 2025. All remaining work will be accommodated with a two-way temporary road.
