Chilliwack’s Jakes Construction wins B2W Innovation Award

April 21, 2023, PORTSMOUTH, NH – Trimble’s B2W Software, a heavy construction management software provider, presented its 2023 Innovation Awards during its annual user conference in Las Vegas, with Chilliwack, BC’s Jakes Construction among the four recipients.

Jakes Construction won the award for Most Innovative New Use of B2W Software for their deployment of these solutions in their daily performance tracking practices.

Using B2W’s software, Jakes has cut administrative time by 66 per cent while tripling its work volume on the Trans Mountain Expansion Project. This project includes providing aggregates, access road building, and tree clearing services to five general contractors on a section of the major oil pipeline project running from Edmonton to Burnaby.

“This was a monumental turning point,” Derek Sterkenburg, an estimator at Jakes Construction, said in a press release. “We estimate that we have saved more than 2,000 hours of administrative time to date.”

Other winners include Superior Construction, based in Florida and Indiana, Utah’s Feller Enterprises, and Ajax Paving Industries, based in Michigan and Florida.
