Cemex acquires Newfoundland’s Atlantic Minerals

May 12, 2023, HOUSTON – Cemex USA have closed on a previously-unannounced acquisition of Atlantic Minerals, a Newfoundland-based aggregate and quarry company.

As part of the deal, Cemex will gain ownership of Atlantic Minerals’ assets, including a construction and chemical aggregates quarry and corresponding port operations, with site operations running under the name Cemex Materials Newfoundland moving forward.

The purchase is aimed at further strengthening Cemex’s position in aggregate-constrained markets, with hopes that the purchase will support the sustained demand for construction aggregates across Florida and the US eastern seaboard, the company said in a press statement.
