Cement production drops

November 19, 2015 – Cement production in Canada dropped in September, down 2.8 per cent from August.

According to information presented by Statistics Canada, cement manufacturers produced 1, 243,094 tonnes of cement products in September as compared to 1,279,519 tonnes in August.

Shipments of domestic cement increased 6.2 per cent to 1,325,530 tonnes. Including imports, shipments were up 5.6 per cent to 1.4 million tonnes.
