IRVING, TX – Caterpillar has upgraded its PM300 cold planer series with a number of improvements across milling power, performance and safety.

Each model in the series – the PM310, PM312 and PM313 – will now ship integrated with a Cat 9.3B engine. This engine offers increases in gross power and torque, in addition to improved electronic, fuel and air systems. Its inclusion in each machine has been designed for easy access and maintenance simplification.

A number of operational upgrades are also included, such as a redesign of transition flashing between primary and loading conveyors to improve material containment and front-end buildup. Further material containment improvements include enhancements to the right-hand side plate, chamber-to-conveyor sealing and loading conveyor belt sealing.

Redesigned features also target improvements on both ease of use and production impacts. An adjustable on-screen guidance line feature can track the cutting edge from either side of the machine for operators, while rear ground controls allow ground personnel to control obstacle jump capability.

Safety improvements include the addition of LED working and roading light options for improved visibility and safety, a stowable exhaust deflector and a redesign of the optional dust abatement ducting for improved sealing and suction.
