Canadian Truck King Challenge update
July 7, 2016 By Howard J Elmer
July 7, 2016 – Summer holidays and sunshine maybe the flavour of the month; but at the Challenge we are already awaiting the turning of the leaves at Head Lake and working diligently towards making this our best event ever.
So, what’s new?
1.We are pleased to announce that Battlefield Equipment is a new sponsor of the 10th Canadian Truck King Challenge. This supplier of construction equipment across Canada will be loaning our event a telehandler to facilitate faster and safer loading of trailers/payload for this fall’s event.
2.We have purchased our own Events Tent for the fall – as well as moving ahead with the construction of a 28’x32’ pole barn at the IronWood site.
3.Equipment loans from Battlefield are not only for the event. This July, a large excavator will be delivered to IronWood and put to work expanding and improving our off-road course.
4.Conversations with manufacturers are now mostly complete regarding entries, though exact models are TBA – these categories will be as follows:
•Mid-size pickup with entries from Honda, GM and Toyota
•Full-size 1/2-ton pickups – entries from GM, Ram, Toyota and Nissan
•HD pickups – 2500 series to be tested at IronWood. 3500 series to be tested in London, ON (on a separate date – TBA) with the help of IKO and CanAm Trailer Centre.
5. We have again secured use the Noble motel and surrounding cottages for our exclusive use during the event.
6. We are adding a drone-operated camera to our array of video coverage this year. All videos will be available post-event (for sale).
