Calgary leads the way on project details

June 25, 2009  By  Andy Bateman

June 25, 2009 – An impressive new City Of Calgary web site provides
comprehensive data on the City’s capital investment program.

Introductory text states that the web site provides
details on Calgary’s
investment of more than $6 billion in capital projects and infrastructure over the
next five years, including the plan, the projects and the partners that will
help make it happen.

Key headings on the site include a Capital Projects
Interactive Map, Funding Partners and the Capital Plan.

The colour coded interactive map shows project by location
under five main categories; Community Safety, Community Development, Mobility, Environmental
Sustainability and Municipal Sustainability & Affordable Housing. The same
page includes a pie chart of Approved Capital Budget Funding Sources which
allows the reader to show or hide projects by Federal, Provincial or Municipal
funding sources.

The opening page of the web site also features a

Dave Bronconnier, described by
some as one of the most innovative and outspoken municipal leaders in the
country.
