Bird Construction purchases B.C.-based Jacob Bros

SURREY, B.C. – Bird Construction announced its $135 million purchase of Surrey, B.C.-based infrastructure construction specialists Jacob Bros on June 10.

Jacob Bros is a privately-owned civil infrastructure construction business of more than 350 employees. The company serves both public and private clients across a variety of projects, including bridges, earthworks, airports, seaports, rail and the energy sector.

Jacob Bros’ CEO Scott Jacob said that he looks forward to the expanded resources this acquisition brings with regards to serving their client base.

“Bird shares many of our core values and our cultural attributes and will be a great fit for our people and our clients. With access to Bird’s resources, we will be able to build on our success and accelerate our growth and capacity as one of Western Canada’s most respected builders of public and private infrastructure,” he said.


A press release highlighted that this acquisition supports Bird Construction’s goal of expanding their civil infrastructure expertise and expanding its geographic reach into further into Western Canada. This acquisition occurred on a cash-free, debt-free basis, though Bird Construction will assume equipment debt.
