Canada’s largest heavy equipment show will fill the halls of the International Centre in Mississauga, as the 13th edition of the National Heavy Equipment Show comes to Mississauga April 18 and 19.
Last year was a banner year for heavy equipment shows in Canada, as both the Atlantic Heavy Equipment Show in Moncton and Expo Grande Travaux in Montreal drew record crowds. The 2011 National Heavy Equipment Show drew over 11,000 people from throughout the rock to road industry.
The two-day event will feature over 200 of the leading heavy machinery, construction equipment and technology solutions manufacturers from across Canada and around the world.
In addition to the static displays that will fill the five halls at the International Centre, a series of special events, workshops and educational opportunities will also be available at the show.
The Gravel Pit
Hall 5 will be filled with a massive display of heavy equipment used in Canada’s aggregate industry. The PIT will feature the newest crushers, screens, conveyors, excavators, front end loaders, dewatering systems, and an abundance of other equipment, fluids, parts and services used in pits and quarries across Canada.
The Backhoe Rodeo
Hall 5 will also be home to the Backhoe Rodeo, brought back to the National Heavy Equipment Show by popular demand. Equipment operators will put big iron through the rigours of a difficult obstacle course in a tight space, requiring operators to exhibit a steady hand and attention to detail. Backhoes from a variety of manufacturers will be on display, giving equipment buyers a closer look at the capabilities of each backhoe.
Octavio Miranda will return to defend his title as Backhoe Rodeo champion, a title he has won at every NHES but one since 1996.
Recruiting Here is a brand-new feature coming to the National Heavy Equipment Show. This program gives exhibitors a chance to post signage at their booth to indicate that they are looking for new recruits to join their team, and gives job seekers the chance to match up with the employers who need them. Several companies have already signed on to the program, including some of the leading Canadian equipment manufacturers. For a full list of employers who will be looking to add to their team at the National Heavy Equipment Show, visit www.nhes.ca .
The Rental Pavilion
The Rental Pavilion returns to Hall 2 at the National Heavy Equipment Show. Manufacturers and distributors from across the rock to road industry will feature the newest heavy equipment available for rentals in Canada. If there is a piece of equipment your operation needs on a part-time basis, you won’t want to miss out on the chance to find out what is available in Canada’s heavy equipment rental market.
Aggregates & Roadbuilding magazine is excited to be the presenting sponsor of the first ever National Heavy Equipment Show Contractors Breakfast. This exclusive, invitation-only event will be held on day two of the event, and feature a keynote presentation by Moreen Miller, CEO of the Ontario Stone, Sand and Gravel Association, entitled: Making Infrastructure a Priority: What can we expect through 2014, and what can we do to help push infrastructure spending forward? Invitations will be available from a limited number of show exhibitors.
The 2013 National Heavy Equipment Show will take place at the International Centre in Mississauga, Ont., on April 18 and 19, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the 18, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the 19. For any additional show information, please visit www.nhes.ca .
