Belleville bridge work closes, road starting next week

Belleville – The Bridge Street Lower Bridge construction will now begin April 26 and is expected to be completed by October.
Bridge Street will be closed to motorists at the bridge for the duration of the rehabilitation work. The section of the Parrott Riverfront Trail that runs under the bridge will also be closed during this time.
Construction will include repairing and carbon fibre-wrapping the damaged concrete on the arches and floor beams. The bridge and trail will be closed as this work is completed in order to increase safety, reduce environmental disruptions, reduce construction costs and reduce the overall construction schedule.
Detour signage will be posted. Pedestrian access will be maintained on Bridge Street for the duration of the construction via a temporary pedestrian walkway.
