
Jan. 12, 2015 – The B.C. Road Builders and Heavy Construction Association has elected its 2015 Board of Directors, including new Chair, John Ryan of the Nechako Group of Companies.
Jan. 12, 2015 – The B.C. Road Builders and Heavy Construction Association has elected its 2015 Board of Directors, including new Chair, John Ryan of the Nechako Group of Companies.
Mr. Ryan is president of the Nechako Group of Companies which includes Nechako Northcoast Construction, Billabong Road and Bridge Maintenance, Dunoon Contracting and Kasiks Wilderness Lodge. The Nechako and Billabong companies provide road and bridge maintenance to the provincial highway network in Service Areas 25 and 26 of the province (including Smithers, the Hazeltons, Meziadin and Stewart for SA 25 and Terrace, Kitimat, Thornhill and the Nass Valley for SA 26).
Mr. Ryan is active in his local community of Terrace and he along with his management team and dedicated employees are committed to providing a reliable service that protects the safety of the traveling public, maintains the integrity of the infrastructure and is of the highest quality to the satisfaction of their stakeholders.

I have been involved with this industry for over 45 years and am looking forward to working with this year’s board to continue advocating for a balanced, safe transportation system that sustains and promotes provincial economic growth and safety for all British Columbians,” said Mr. Ryan.
The 2015 board of directors was named at the B.C. Road Builders’ Annual General Meeting held in Victoria on December 5th. The 2015 board includes:

B.C. Road Builders and Heavy Construction Association was formed in 1966 and advocates for the development of a balanced, safe transportation system and highways infrastructure that sustains and promotes provincial economic growth. The association represents more than 250 firms involved in grading, asphalt and concrete manufacturing, paving, utility construction, road and bridge building/maintenance, blasting, as well as related goods and services suppliers.
The Association proudly works with its members to give back to the community having raised over $340,000 in the past 14 years for B.C. Children’s Hospital and awards its Betty Spalton Scholarships annually to individuals obtaining educations in fields associated with the road building and heavy construction industry.
