Atlantic Heavy Equipment Show looks toward growth for 2020

October 18, 2019  By AHES

Oct. 18, 2019 – For more than three decades the Atlantic Heavy Equipment show has been bringing together Atlantic Canada’s forestry and construction industries. Held only every two years, the event is planning its bigger and better-than-ever return for April 2-3, 2020.

Even though there are still six months until the equipment rolls into the Moncton Coliseum, event space inside is already 80 per cent sold. With a sprawling 300,000 square feet of exhibits taking up the building, the high demand has show producers anticipating a highly successful edition.

“This is one of the largest trade events in the country and brings in the largest crowds for any trade event in the Maritimes. Our last edition was quite literally elbow-to-elbow with heavy crowds throughout both days,” said Mark Cusack, national show manager. “Planning and sales for the show are in full swing at the moment, with the vast majority of space within the building already spoken for. With the way things are coming together, 2020 is shaping up to be one of the most successful editions in the show’s history.”

For Atlantic Canadians working within the realm of heavy machinery, construction, roadbuilding, forestry, and landscaping, the show provides a valuable opportunity to get equipped for the next big project. Much more than just bulldozers and big tractors, the event also highlights equipment from many different vital industries, including roadbuilding, forestry and logging, which are big business in the region. With abundant networking opportunities and the chance to see the latest equipment on the market, the show’s attendance is on the rise, with the 2018 edition breaking attendance records and seeing 14,800 visitors.

The upcoming Atlantic Heavy Equipment Show will welcome industry giants from across multiple sectors. Strongco is already planning to bring the latest in their excavator and wheel loader lineup, with the Volvo EC220E and Volvo L110H, plus the Sennebogen 825ME – an advanced mobile material handling machine. Log Max is premiering one of their bestselling product models, the 6000B harvesting head. With more than 20 updates the new 6000V has been designed to make the logging contractor’s life easier through production efficiencies and uptime.

Another exhibitor, Rotobec, will display their latest models of Grapples, Grapple Parts, Loaders, and other material handling equipment. Additional products and highlights will be posted on the Atlantic Heavy Equipment Show website and social media accounts as April approaches.

Since 1986, The Atlantic Land Improvement Contractors Association (ALICA) have been proud sponsors and owners of the event. Although the Atlantic Heavy Equipment Show started small, it has endured steady growth more than 30 years to the point where an additional 8,000 square feet of outdoor exhibits are filled alongside the entire Coliseum Agrena complex. The Atlantic Heavy Equipment Show is now recognized as one of the premiere shows in the country, with a loyal exhibitor base and thousands of visitors.

The Atlantic Heavy Equipment Show 2020 will take place at the Moncton Coliseum in Moncton on Thursday, April 2 and Friday, April 3. Visit AHES.ca for details.
