ASGA silica hazard awareness schedule released

September 30, 2016 – Once again, the Alberta Sand and Gravel Association has partnered with Nielsen Consulting to bring our membership a series of half-day training courses on exposure, health impacts and risk management related to working with silica.
This course will provide participants review of:
•the overall legislation and policy related to worker exposure to silica;
•how exposures occur in aggregate plants, and which workers are most at risk;
•the health effects of silica inhalation;
•how to control exposures in an aggregate plant; and
•management of the risk at the corporate and site levels.
