Another overpass hit by a piece of heavy equipment

Another day, another overpass hit.

Const. Ken Usipiuk tweeted out Thursday afternoon that officers were assisting Deas Island Freeway members after a vehicle with a piece of heavy equipment struck the 112 Street overpass on Highway 99 in Delta, Metro Vancouver.

Northbound traffic was affected, but officials said the road should be open again in the 5 p.m. hour.

Highway contractors were on site to assess the damage, Usipiuk said.
