Ann-Sofie Räftegård appointed head of HR at Volvo CE

Effective Oct. 1, 2019, Ann-Sofie Räftegård will take on the role of senior vice-president, human resources, at Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE).

Räftegård will lead human resources by driving talent management, compensation and benefits, workforce planning, diversity and engagement of Volvo CE’s global workforce of more than 14,000 people. She will report to company president Melker Jernberg and be a member of the executive management team (EMT).

That is what inspires me.”

She joins Volvo from having spent more than three years at the Swedish Höganäs Group, where she was senior vice-president of human resources. Prior to that, she held important roles at IKEA, Daimler/Mercedes Benz, Johns Manville and Perstorp.

Räftegård is bilingual in Swedish and English and holds a degree and diploma as a gestalt practitioner in organisation from the Stockholm Gestalt Academy in Sweden. She also has a degree in human resource management from Växjö University, in Sweden.

She will be based in Gothenburg, Sweden. She replaces Diana Niu, who took up the role of executive vice-president of human resource management for the Volvo Group on Jan. 1, 2019.

Volvo CE president Melker Jernberg said, “I am delighted to welcome Anne-Sophie to her new role. I know she will make a very strong contribution to our company at this important time for the business.”
