Ammann has released two new rollers that feature an updated design and meet the world’s strictest emissions standards.

The ARX 90 StV and ARX 110 StV articulated heavy tandem rollers are powered by engines that meet EU Stage V and U.S. EPA Tier 4 final emissions requirements.

The rollers are ideal for medium and large jobsites, including roadbuilding and building construction.

Both the ARX 90 StV and ARX 110 StV are powered by the Deutz TCD3.6L4 engine. The differences between models results in the after-treatment structure, where there are varied systems for reducing pollution and NOx.  Newly released models are equipped with the most technologically advanced after-treatment system.

Compaction output is high, and the system is efficient. Each drum has an independent vibratory pump. The rollers also feature a heavy-duty, two-stage vibrator with a variable range of frequencies.

Ammann design

The machines are designed to be compact and drive vibration into the targeted materials and away from the operator. The design also provides visibility and comfort that helps make operators productive throughout their shift.

Ammann Tandem rollers are easy to control, with articulated steering with oscillation and a mechanism that enables work in crab mode up to 17 cm on both sides. A differential lock is standard.

Ammann equipped the machines with a spacious, comfortable and quiet cab. Operator-friendly features include a unique multifunctional display in the steering wheel, adjustable steering column and control switches on the armrest.

A rotating and sliding seat enables visibility with excellent sight lines to drum surfaces, edges and spraying bars. The operator can slide the seat beyond the machine contour for even better visibility.

Telematics readiness

Every machine is ready for installation of Ammann ServiceLink for monitoring of machine functions, fuel consumption and required service intervals. Customers also can install telematics solutions from other providers if they prefer.

The optional ACEforce system is intuitive to operate, with all information in a simple format on the central display. The system offers advanced functions for effortless and safe machine operation and compaction guidance. ACEforce also recognizes if the machine is experiencing a double jump. If so, the system immediately informs the operator of corrective measures to prevent machine damage.

This motion enables the drums to maintain constant contact throughout compaction. It uses less force but delivers both vertical and horizontal energy – essentially massaging the aggregates into place.

Oscillation excels on sensitive jobsites, such as bridges or when working over sewers or utility lines. In addition, oscillating rollers can safely work on mats that are too hot or too cold for traditional compaction methods. Oscillating compactors also seal joints without damaging cold mats.
