March 2, 2016 – A new all-weather road has been proposed in the Northwest Territories, a road that will follow part of the newly-aligned Mackenzie Valley highway.
According to a CBC report, the proposed 14km road in the Sahtu region would run from Canyon Creek up to Norman Wells.
The road is not part of the province’s transportation strategy, however government officials stated that monies for the project could come from federal infrastructure dollars committed to the territory.
