July 10, 2017 - Terex Finlay hosted an international open day in Edinburgh, Scotland on June 15 and 16, 2017. The event had a very international feel with dealers and end-user customers in attendance from Canada, U.S., South America, Europe, Russia, Japan and South Africa. In total over 350 dealers and customers visited the site over the two days.

June 27, 2017 – Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. and Bluegrass Materials Company  announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement under which Martin Marietta will acquire Bluegrass for US$1.625 billion in cash.

June 22, 2017 - LafargeHolcim’s operations in Canada obtained the Concrete Sustainability Council (CSC) certificates for Responsibly Sourced Concrete for a ready mix concrete plant in Burlington, Ont. and a ready mix concrete plant in Edmonton, Alta.
June 20, 2017 - Lehigh Hanson, Inc. announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire all operating assets of the Saunders Companies. These assets include 13 fixed ready mixed concrete plants, two portable ready mixed concrete plants and nine aggregate operations.

June 6, 2017 - Earlier this week, the province tabled Bill 139 in the legislature – the Building Better Communities and Conserving Watersheds Act, 2017 – as part of the review of the Ontario Municipal Board (OMB). Bill 139 will make significant changes to the planning system in the province and replace the OMB with the “Local Planning Appeal Tribunal”. It also seeks to make other major changes that will affect how license hearings are conducted and how aggregate policy is implemented.

May 30, 2017 - The Axle Weight Pilot Project was launched on May 15th in cooperation with the Ministry of Transportation, the Ontario Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (OSSGA), The Ontario Aggregate Truckers Association (OATA) and the Ontario Road Builders Association (ORBA). 
May 29, 2017 - On May 27, Canada Building Materials (CBM) hosted their annual open house at its Sunderland Sand & Gravel Pit. The event offered the public a behind the scenes look at the facilities and operations at the Sunderland Pit, which has provided raw materials for construction projects in the Greater Toronto Area for decades, including the iconic CN Tower.
May 26, 2017 - LafargeHolcim announces the appointment of Jan Jenisch as CEO from Oct. 16, 2017. Jenisch joins from Swiss company Sika AG, which has a leading global position in the development and production of systems and products for the building materials and automotive sectors.
