May 13, 2016 – Guelph-Eramosa Council has granted approval for a proposed 51-hectare aggregate pit.

According to an article from The Wellington Advertiser, Council approved the zoning bylaw amendment that would convert the land from agricultural to extractive industrial.

Tri City Lands Ltd. provided the original pit application in March of 2014. The proposed pit will see up to 650,000 tonnes of aggregates removed each year for 5-10 years. The extraction will take place above the water table.
