407 Phase 1 nears completion

June 6, 2016 – The completion of Phase 1 of the Highway 407 extension is just weeks away, with Phase 2 of the project already underway.

According to an article on durhamregion.com, late spring has been targeted as the new completion date for $1 billion Phase 1 of the extension of Highway 407 to Harmony Road in Oshawa. The project’s original completion date was the end of 2015.

The $1.158 billion Phase 2 of the project is already underway, which will include work on the new Highway 412 linking Highwa7 407 with Highway 401. Phase 2, which will link the 407 with Highway 35/115, is scheduled for completion for the end of 2020.
