May 3, 2022  By  Don Horne

A new ready-mix concrete plant that’s estimated to create a number of jobs begins operations in Prince Albert, Sask.

Norcast Concrete Ltd. said the state-of-the-art plant in P.A. includes a new BMH systems batching plant that can batch up to 140 cubic metres per hour. The plant also operates on fully automated Marcotte system controls.

“The combination of high throughput capability and high precision is something that was extremely important for our company to be competent in serving small residential projects to large complex commercial and industrial projects,” said Kevin Graves, president of Norcast Concrete in a media release.

Norcast Concrete Ltd. was formed by business leaders born and raised in P.A. and bring 40 years of construction and aggregate processing experience to serve the community with ready-mix and pre-cast concrete products and aggregates. The company is currently hiring for plant staff and operators and will continue to create jobs for years to come as the business expands.

“Economic development in our home community is important to our company. We are excited to have the opportunity to provide local jobs to the people in our communities,” said Andrew Ardell, director of Norcast Concrete.

The city has many commercial and industrial construction projects coming up, such as the Victoria Hospital expansion and the aquatic and arena recreation centre. Norcast is excited to work with those involved.
